I is for....
Isaiah 40:11
He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
AND....
Isaiah 55:8
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways, declares the LORD.
I really wanted a word that spoke to the situation we find ourselves in! We just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary this past weekend. So in a surprising turn of events my husband took me away for a night! We were able to take some time to reflect on our new calling as a resource family. We were humbled by how much we have grown and learned over these past 4 months. The first verse really speaks to our mindset as we step into the role of resource parents. We are God's instrument to help these families hopefully find healing and be able to be reunited with their children. God GENTLY leads those that have young. Wow. What a challenge to us humans, as often our first response is to judge those who have lost their children due to unfortunate circumstances. we really need to be gentle and kind to these families. they are hurting and struggling. they need to know the love of Christ. and Hopefully they will find that love through us.
The second verse speaks to how crazy fast this has all happened! We were told two years when we started this process in December! Now 4 months later here we are.. ready for our first or fourth (depending on how you look at things) child! God's ways are certainly not our ways!
It sure is hard getting into "baby/toddler" mode when you aren't nesting! not too mention we haven't even had 9 months to prepare!
Our daughter was teasing me yesterday saying I looked pretty good for being "due" next week!
