Birthday wishes

What a year! So far in my last year of life we have almost burnt our house to the ground, we have refinanced our beautiful home, my husband has quit his job, we started a new business, we became homeschoolers, We became the parents of a teenager, we have stepped into new levels of spirituallity, I did a wonderful Beth Moore study, my husband started playing baseball! We have enjoyed 3 campfires in ourbackyard. Our daughter saved up and bought a trampoline! We havfe had only 2 trips to emerg, 1 surgery, and very few coughs and colds this year. We have enjoyed our gardens, and being close to the lake. We have met all of our neighbours by delivering baked goodies! We went to florida for 2 weeks. I have lost 5 pounds! We have been stretched and challenged at and with our church. We have learned lessons about commitment, and strength. We are learning how to keep God in the centre of a teenager and two toddlers, work and school! We have been asked to get involved in a few different ministries that we are praying about. We have followed my brother around the world. We have read every newspaper article that contains pirate fighting escapades! We have enjoyed the Wii! We have grown closer to family this past year. This year we have been given a great opportunity to step out and see what truly is important. We have been able to answer better how do we want to spend our time. We have been given a glimpse into the gifts and talents of our children and perhaps even our own selves.

Wow what a year. and this is only a glimpse!

God has been good beyond measure yet again.

I had to take a picture of these! My husband and daughter bought me a Bing cherry tree for my birthday! YUUUMMY!! ( and not so out of the blue, I had been dropping some rather large hints that they were on sale at a local garden stop) The pots also not necessarily a surprise but definately a welcome addition to our kitchen! It is one of those great pasta pots, that you lift the inside pot up and it drains the pasta right there for you, no more dumping scalding hot water for this gal! The cushions, may have been hinted at ( as we were having a BBQ the next day and my cushions had gone missing!) Who am I kidding we only have 2 lawn chairs! Awkward with 20 people there for dinner! The turtle Was a surprise and I love it! The only garden ornaments allowed in my garden, are turtles.

So all in all a very great birthday!

Thank you to all for the birthday wishes, calls, cards, flowers, gifts, visits and prayers!

Aww, thanks for posting this and for the picture of the birthday girl. :) Cute about the hinting for gifts. hee, hee.

Love the pasta pot idea! Nice! :)

I especially liked to hear about how God has brought you through the past year. Reminds me of the psalms that trace the Israelites history and ends each phrase with "for His love endures forever!"
