Thanksgiving

Once again the Tom Turkey has come and gone and again I am left wondering did we even take more than a moment to reflect on the billion things we have to be thankful for?

Our daughter made a comment this weekend that she had more fun Monday than she did all weekend long. that should make most of us stop and if only for a fleeting moment ask ourselves why that is.

She was unable to be with us for most of this weekend, which was one thing that we were not thankful for this weekend. And it really made it hard to be out of town for all of us without her. So I asked her what made Monday so special. Her response. Family. She felt part of the family.

What she did Monday...... she helped make stuffing with Grandma, put up a great defense in the annual giant family leaf fight, made KD for lunch, went for a walk with Uncle john to take fall pictures, went for a bike ride with Grandpa and dad, watched some TV, Played in the leaves some more, ate alot of Turkey, went for another walk, had some pie, came home and went to bed!
Not a whole lot there that seems exciting, but to one little girl it made her incredibly thankful for family.

What does our mundane day look like? How often do we forget to be the most thankful for the little things, or the simple things, or even the dull routine of the day to day.

If you haven't already take the time today to stop and give thanks.
Give it to the one who deserves it!
