Sermon of the week!

We heard a really good sermon on the second coming of Christ this past Sunday. And it really struck something within us. We both were refreshed to be reminded and yet sad that you rarely here talk of the greatest event yet to come!
It was nice to be hit square between the eyes that Jesus could in fact come today.
What would you say to God about how your morning went? Or about your trivial spat with your spouse? Or how about the struggle getting the kids out the door, or down for their nap?
To compile these thoughts we watched "The day after tomorrow". Which, if you haven't seen it, it is a natural disaster movie. Not really our favorite genre, but we gave it a try! It is about the coming of a second ice age. Canada and Northern USA were frozen within about 72 hours. Only the son of the weatherman survived, of course! Actually there were a few hundred survivors in Manhattan( which is scary considering the actual population of Manhattan). Anyhow to my point. What would you do? Would you take your kids and try to make it somewhere safe? Would you stay home and pray? Would you Really have the peace of God? Would you have already told everyone you knew about Jesus? What would you tell God when you met him?
It has been a really strong and pressing thought this week that Jesus is on his way. What are we teaching our kids? How important is it to us to share the Gospel with those who don't know?
Some of our family has decided to answer the call to go to the mission field in a far off country. they are to start their training this summer. We had a missionary moment this past Sunday as well, and he said with great sincerity Jesus commanded us to go. So how can we not go.
So hmmm, where do we go from here!
We have so many loved ones around us here that need Jesus and need to hear what we have to say. I think we will be here for a little longer. I fear that when we move again, we will look back and say oh the chances we had to say something to save a life to share the Gospel, they just passed us by. Before we move again We want to make a difference in our community, our circle of friends, our family, and our schools.
Jesus is coming again. Maybe it is time for you to get ready.
