Yes we are back to here.
I was presented with the question recently of; "what is the point?"
What eternal good are we doing? If we aren't out on the mission field, if we aren't out there doing a big work, what good are we doing?
Let me share with you that for a stay home mom of three, who gets maybe 3 hours a week of adult interaction ( 2 of which are on Sunday) that was a pretty daunting question.
For a stay home mom who simply feeds, clothes, schools, and raises her kids...... what eternal good am I doing, is a pretty hefty question.
We have talked a great deal about adoption over the course of our marriage, and we have done a great deal of research into the matter. One of the wonderful people who stopped to talk with me made one very profound and yet sad comment at the same time.
"It costs alot of money to make that kind of difference."
HUH?! It left me to wondering Is that what it has come down to.
You have to have money to do God's work.
How can we serve two masters?????
How can we be striving for money so that we can make a difference.
It strikes me as well simply redundant and funny now that I sit back and read my own words.We can't.
So what is the purpose for those of us who don't have a great mission, or talent, or bags of money to build an orphanage? For Those of us who simply go to work and pay our bills, and raise our family, what eternal good are we doing? What more can we do?

Can't answer all your questions, sorry, but do you know the story about the little boy who was throwing starfish back into the ocean after they'd been washed in by the tide? When asked why he bothered since he could never rescue them all, he replied it makes a difference to this one. So, yes, we're to impact our world but do not get weary in doing good where you are when you are there. You are making a great deal of difference to the 3 little people you are with the most. Let them see you following Christ in the day to day and even the mundane. You'll never realize the impact it will have on their life but it will have one.

Being a stay at home mom is making a huge difference!! I appreciated it from my mom and I know you're kids will too!! And, I happen to think you have 3 wonderful kids, the reward of good parents and a Great God!!
