Edward Scissorhands
A typical Johnny Depp movie. A love story of sorts, a movie of conformity and choices.
The stark reality in this movie that jumps out at you is the "suburban life" vs anyone outside your "bubble".
I was really taken by how fast everyone jumped on the edward bandwagon. Everyone wanted a peice of the new kid. they all wanted to be friends, they all wanted to look like they were sincere and friendly. In one split moment, they all turn against him. It hit me as so sad how that is so much like us in everyday life.
How often we just jump on the bandwagon without finding out the "whole story" or taking a stand against what everyone is going with for what is right. The whole movie is a sad commentary on typical life in any decade. In any social setting, in any country, it all rings so true.
We are not lovers of mankind. We are lovers of likeness.

Thank you for that reminder too, yes, they turn on him, that was sad. It was so "high school" but in an "adult" world that you could almost believe exists, or is that just on Desperate Housewives???
